Default Recommendable Applications

Since there isn't any thread listing the most common applications for the Xperia, I might as well start a list.

Feel free to share your thoughts but please make sure that the applications you recommend are compatible with the X1.

  • Core Player
  • eWallet
  • Pocket Artist
  • PocketMusic with aac plugin
  • Resco Explorer 2008

  • SPB Backup
  • SPB Mobile DVD
  • SPB Finance
  • Windows Mobile Remote Desktop Client
  • zsIRC (wmIRC works, but zsIRC includes more functions)

Panels
  • SPB Mobile Shell Panel

Interface
  • SPB Mobile Shell (Official Sony Ericsson SPB panel already covers this)
  • TouchFlo

  • FPSEce (emulator, don't bother trying until the new version is out :P)
    -Final Fantasy VII (semi-playable)

Good idea, I've been wanting a financial app on my phone for a while now, just haven't looked for it. Now I don't have to!! Xperiatweak looks like a good app to have handy.

Hopefully in a future firmware update we won't be needing XperiaTweak! ;p

I still need a decent dictionary, navigation application and a worthy remote control client.

I'm building an section on to the site which hopefully I can announce later today or tomorrow. The objective is just to redirect members to the developer's site so we can all still support the developers, at the same time help X1 users find the best X1-optimized apps. I hope you guys can help list apps in it soon.

In any case, this thread is great. Thanks!

Advanced Configuration Tool
Advanced Configuration Tool - The ultimate tweaking tool for Windows Mobile

Lots of added WM control. Of particular help is the Phone setting for changing the delay time for ending calls - WM default is 3 seconds, i set mine down to 0.5 seconds and it seems to have helped on both answering and ending call speeds.

Make sure to pick up the .NET 3.5 Compact Framework from MS (link at the bottom of the above site) in order for it to work.
