Default Gaming on X1?

How do you think this will be? How about the released games for Winmo? I saw a video YouTube - Final Fantasy 7 on Pocket PC X50v using FPSECE of someone playing a FF7 for the PS1 on his Winmo device. Clearly an emulator, but do you think the Xperia would be able to handle anything like this? I am really hoping to get rid of my DS, sell it, and use some of that money to pay for Xperia so it'll ease the burden of the $400 or so device.

Yeah I'd be interested to know more too. I'm sure retro emulators would work fine so some old school 8 bit and 16 bit games would be cool. I've heard tidbits about psx emulatorsfor WM but have no experience of them. I'd like to see what Sony and third parties come up with as this phone was made for gaming. High res screen, optical joystick, keypad touch and stylus. Plenty to utilise. I'm going to investigate the emulator front a little more.

I'd love to get some games in such a high resolution. If video playback is good ( i hear conflicting reports) then I would be watching a lot of HD videos too. I have a lot of free time before work .

A quick scan of XDA got this thread.

Emulation Speed - xda-developers

Hopefully as more people get the phone will will find more expertise coming the table and answering the questions we want to hear.

I mean, with something as simple as SNES or NES for that matter, it better run full speed, as my Treo 650 runs NES full and SNES just barely at full speed. I would just love to be able to play some 3d games though.

Technically 480p is loosely termed HD and apple HD trailers are usually 480p, 720p and 1080p so perhaps it was meant in that sense. 480p content on a mobile would technically be high definition compared to most phones.

That would never work... Where would the second screen go? A GBA on the other hand... Or even... PSP!!

I just want to know about REAL games being MADE FOR the Xperia. I wonder if anyone is working on an 800x480 version of Tetris or Arkanoid.

Hey, i've had my Xperia for 3 weeks soon, so I might answer some of your gaming questions.

I tried to install an SNES Emulator (Think I found a pretty "new" version but still way to old to actually work) but as some of you guys said, it doesn't work! It starts but when im trying to load a ROM it crashes, and its probably the big screen that causes this.

So if we just wait i'm sure someone will make a port to the Xperia, and the fast processor should be able to handle it pretty well.
