I just got off the phone with Expansys-USA, where I've already preordered from, and the guy told me that there would be only ONE, yes ONE version of the phone. He told me it "is truly a world phone" and that it would be the first phone to work with tmobile's 3G network. I told him that there had to be two versions, but he told me they decided to go with one version with HSDPA support for all bands as well as GSM. He also told me that it would ship on October 13th. I think the shipping date is true, but idk about there only being one version of the phone. Anyways this is what the phone has cost me: List price at Expansys-USA + next day shipping: $973.00 + Squaretrade 3 year extended warranty + Accidental damage: 299.99 __________________________________________________ _____________ = Grand total of $1272.99 (OUCH!) I'm planning to keep this thing for the full 3 years of my warranty at least (I hope). I'm not a frivolous spender in general, but the functionality of this phone is very important to me and I believe it will pay me back in its uses.

Thanks peeps! Anyways the VGA recording is what still leads me to believe that there will be two versions as it would be illegal to sell it here with the patent infringing technology, unless SE got all that sorted out which I highly doubt.

From what I read here its going to be two phones one for US and one for the rest of the world. I assume the differencies is the screen resolution. read more at: http://xperiancers.com/2008/09/26/yo...ions-answered/

As I understand it (correct me if Im wrong) the diffrent bands 850/900/1800/1900/2100 etc is only the the frequency the phone uses to communicate with the "towers". the reason why there are so many Bands. is because of al traffic. there is not enough bandwith per frequency. the data sent on thease frequencys could be 2G or 3G etc. the speed of the data transfer is dependent on: 1 your phone if it supports 3G etc. 2: the ability for the towers to receive/transfer 3G as a data format and ability to handle the data speed. This has nothing to do with what band you are using. The mobile network suppliers T-mobile At&T are using diffrent band, simly because they have divided them among each other. Have I made you al more confused now.
