| Does anyone know anything about a Canadian X1 release... There's no mention of it on SE's Canadian product site, and none of the Canadian carriers have any info either. I want onto SE's Canadian website, and went into the "contact" section and found this... Sony Ericsson - Contact us So I decided to call the xperia # given and i reached the "stream deanus test number 3742" (or something... that's what it sounded like...) and then nobody answered the phone. So i hung up. I called customer service, and they told me that if the product is not on the web site it will most likely not be released here. She customer service lady also suggested to me that if I do buy one unlocked, that I buy if from a Canadian retailer (even if they've bought it elsewhere), because if I don't the warranty will not be valid. Can anybody help me!?!?!?!?!? ![]() I'm assuming that Canadian retailers won't have the phone till US release... (I'm almost ready to give up) |

| Just as the rest of North America, you will have to wait until 3. November for the launch dates. They will be announced then. As a rumour I heard something like March 2009 for Canada.

| Canada unfortunately gets things dead last. So Xperia is not something new. I recommend saving up and getting the Xperia from a US retailer. I am currently thinking of getting the Diamond or Omnia before I finally have enough guts to spend 1000$ on a phone.

| I've bought stuff from Tiger Direct before (TigerDirect.com - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Components & Electronics) or .ca for the Canadian store. They're reliable, and that's where I'm planning on getting my X1, but i don't know when they'll get the phone. Also expansis (Smartphone, Pocket PC & Ultra-Mobile PC Store - eXpansys Inc) seems to be pretty big, however I've had no personal experience with them. I know Tiger Direct has actual retail stores you can go into and buy, but I don't think there's that many, and I'm not sure if you'd be close to one... check it out tho... Hope that helps? |

| YOu'd have to go either rogers or fido (which is owned by rogers anyway) as bell and telus still operate on CDMA only, and have their own phones with bell/telus hardware and software. If you are going to be buying an unlocked device, you need a sim card and rogers/fido are the only carriers to have them. I'm not sure about virgin, or this new koodo carrier, i've got no experience with them ![]() |
