Anybody knows whether it's officially been released in india?

I have been follwing up eith one distributer and have been told that within a fortnight it should be available in India. But still no word on pricing.

Are you following up with a normal mobile phone store, or a Sony world outlet? Coz the outlet closest to mine never seems to know any details.. I had to introduce him to the word Xperia in the first place..
Will there be enough for all of us?
I have a feeling they'll be gone before i can get my hands on one....

I am following up with sony centre, there is one close to my place. but even he was not sure of the pricing part.

Just checked with the sony ericsson people, they told that it will be available in the first week of November. And the pricing is INR 38,000 Appx. The kit will have a 4 GB card too.

Look at what the sony ericsson people replied to my mail...

"As per your email, we understand that you want to know launching date of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. We truly appreciate your interest shown in Sony Ericsson product. We would like to inform you that this model has not yet launched in India. However, we would also like to inform you that we do not have the date when this handset will be launch in India. We would like to inform you the price of this handset is currently not available with us. The same will be updated on our website as soon as the phone will be introduced. We look forward for your kind cooperation and assure the best of our services."

I had called up the contact numebr given on the india site and from here only I got these answers. I too hope that the information is reliable. lets see.

even i called SE india helpline. they told me 1st week of november

I called up sony ericsson customer care and asked them the same. Same answers, 1st week of november, and around 40k.
I also asked for any pre-ordering options and the guy said that he'll definitely be able to help me out with that and will ask an executive to contact me. Will update after i get the call.

i saw xperia is selling by one indian online store "gadgetsguru.in". i dont know authenticity. They are showing its cost INR41599 after discount and with taxes.
