| I do not have an Xperia, so I cannot help you out but I am curious what network you are connected to. Should I assume AT&T or another network?

Where do you live? If you get H that's great. it means HSDPA. The best network connection. If you have only a couple of bars it means the signal is not too strong bit still is HSDPA. I guess you have aT&T you just need the 1900 band in your area. You may notice different connections when you move around becasue AT&T doesn't not have 3G in all areas. So depending of your settings and the area where you go you will connect with different networks from G for GSM/GPRS on 850/1900 gsm bands to 3G and HSDPA which is also called 3.5G |

| Find a way to turn 3g (H) on and off. You'll get better voice reception and longer battery life with 3G turned off, you'll still have EDGE speed. I used to do that with my 8525 and still do with my K850. In my house if I have 3G on I get poor reception and battery doesn't last because it's constantly trying to get the faster network, so I leave it off until I need it for browsing etc. |

| ok now explain this to me. wcdma is the same as 3g isnt it? and both xperias are quad band GSM/EDGE right? so if i change the type of connection from wcdma to gsm, shouldnt i have a better connection. i still have a weak connection at my house. my other quad gsm band phones (none 3G) get great reception. why is that? |
