Default Memory card to be used

Can you guys suggest a good memory card to be bought? I'm a bit confused between SD and SDHC, so don't want to make a mistake of buying a card which is not compatible with the xperia .

The Xperia is compatible with MicroSDHC so you can't really go wrong with any MicroSD card.

I'm using two SanDisk 16GB class 2 cards.

Last iRemember, you can use both! microSD and microSDHC differ iN size by the way. SD is up to 2GB. SDHC iS up to 32GB, but only 16GB iS avaliable. 32GB will be released sometime next year. i'Ve been readin' around and many people complain about the read/write transfer rate. 192KB/sec, you do the math. Load your data files at night before you go to bed iS all iHave to say!

yes microSDHC is backward compatible
with older versions

so it's on a matter of older devices not being able to use microSDHC

and x1 not being an older device it's no problem really

unless ones sd usb reader for the pc dont play with microSDHC
which 3 of mine dont
but got 2 that works fine so microSDHC all the way

Really? You mean the read/write speed of the X1 is low, or of the 16gb microsd? Do you have links to more info on this?

I copied a 1.5gb file a few days ago, and it took around an hour.

I'd suggest a class 6 8GB microSDHC. They're sold here in Germany for around 22€.
If I didn't get it completely wrong, the class stands for transfer rate in Megabytes?

I've also got a class 6 8GB, others are pretty slow. I think they're still generally fine in the phone but transferring data to the card is slow.
