Hi, Sony-Ericsson and Sony-Vaio, you should expect them to work together. But when I try to pair my Vaio (VGN AR-21S) with my X1, after asking me for a passcode, the connection fails. This is what happens: - I start searching on the BT manager of my vaio and find my X1 - The X1 is added to the list - I double click the X1 (which is the same as right-click connect) - He asks a passkey, so I type 0000 - Now my X1 asks me if my vaio is allowed to connect, I click yes - My X1 asks the passkey, I type 0000 and click next - My vaio says: connection with X1 failed almost immediately - My X1 says: connection with smartphone successful... but as you might expect: this is not the case. Anyone else knows about this problem? Any hints? This is not my worst problem of course, I'm having more problems with my BT staying on during the day, but that seems to be a common problem. Regards, Dirk.

No vista :-) It's XP. And every other device works perfectly, only the X1 doesn't pair. I have a BT mouse, a BT audio send/recv device, my previous phone, the SE K750i works fine, and I believe I have paired other devices too in the past.

I asked SE and they say that it's necessary that the BT connection is set as "serial communication" and not "network connection". But my PC doesn't give that option (where it does give that option with my K750i). So I asked if there is a setting on the X1 that makes sure the PC will see its serial communication ability but they say it's not possible... I don't think they're quite answering my question here. Anyone in here that knows if there's a way to make sure my PC sees the X1 as serial communication device instead of network device?

| I might have a solution for this Go to Device Manager Go to Bluetooth Radios (Make sure your bluetooth is on or else it won't show up Right click on you bluetooth device (your might have a different name don't choose enumerator) and choose properties then in the advanced tab give your bluetooth a proper (nick)name Then click on the drivers tab, here choose update driver. make sure you have a internet connection up and the cd of the X1 in the drive. Let it automatically search for the latest driver. After finding it, it will display a balloon indicating it has installed software for PAN and more. Turn on and start up the default bluetooth service from Windows Add your phone to the list. Make sure you started up your Internet Sharing option on the X1 and press connect. Right click on the bluetooth icon in your taskbar, choose join a Personal Area Network. You will be prompted with such a screen (I removed my personal name, but your will be shown here) Click connect and your connection should be working make sure ou have the beam option on your X1 (Sorry if I'm missing some steps for some, I was playing around and after the lasts steps I took I achieved a working PAN/BUN connection, so these steps are the only ones I remember correctly)

I've been searching and searching again, and I really can't find the "bluetooth radio" in my device manager. I know this sounds very strange, I always find my hardware in the device manager on other pc's, but on this Vaio, it seems that it's not there :s
