| Has anyone else noticed HTC's new entry, the Touch Pro 2?: HTC - Products - HTC Touch Pro2 - Overview 800x480 screen, tilt display, properly offset keyboard... this seems to close most of the gaps between the current Touch Pro and the X1. And it will probably enjoy carrier subsidy in the US. Of course, it doesn't actually exist yet, but supposedly it will hit the US this summer (and a bit earlier for ROW). Yeah, I know that there's always something nicer around the corner. But this might be worth trying to nurse my aging Treo along for another few months for. OTOH, some time before the TP2 is actually delivered, Sony will probably announce the X2 ![]() -lr

| Well at the same time it doesn't bring anything new. Besides it lacks any navigation keys/pads what is pure cr**p as for me. And IMO X1 looks still great. The only interesting thing was - as hinted - support for WM 6.5... |

| nah no way this is better than the xperia. it certainly levels the playing field a little bit but the xperia still has a distinct edge in slickness, operability and general practicality. The touch pro (and presumably the tp2) has a clunky feel to it that the xperia just doesnt have. IMHO as long as its still based off off this qualcomm MSM 7200/7500 crap it will not have good 2d acceleration and be just as shitty/sluggish as everything else on the market. |

| SE should have never held HTC's hand used the MSM 7200 in the Xperia. While i think the SE engineers have done significantly better optimizing it for the X1, the MSM 7200 STILL SUCKS BIG TIME. HTC is making a mistake by using it again for the diamond2 and tp2. I doubt there will be any difference in performance between the tp1and the tp2. If anything ill bet the tp2 will be slower. They will be two devices that just merely look slightly different than their predecessors. All of these new 'features' are just an attempt to gouge the buyer even more than they already do. This time the joke is on them! Hah HTC, good luck selling a 'new model' ~$900 phone in a recession! I am so glad SE dropped HTC for making the X2, good for them. As a previous Kaiser owner and a current X1 owner I can safely say HTC SUCKS. |
