| In relation to what? A company who doesn't support their own 12 month old top of the range product? To cooly announce: "An update is not in the roadmap" is simply arrogant. All of the devices you mentioned are in the same price range as the X1, run the same OS and came on the market at a similar time. They are quite comparable. The X1 tops them in design .... and what else? I went for the X1 because I wanted a (at least partially) european device and thought with a company like SE I would get good support. It turns out I was wrong. If I can get a phone which has great features and a similar price than the X2 from HTC what should compel me to buy the X2?

HTC selective support means - we will update HTC TP 2 and Diamond 2 because they're new and successful, the rest = about 10 or 15 different devices of HTC portfolio fu*k you (without any word). No update. A real selective support. So you choose what you like. If you like to play a russian rulette - maybe support, maybe not, do it. I see no particular difference. |

| I must admit HD2 is the only interesting device for me besides X2. But things which turn me off are Capactive screen, TF3d, no hardware control, no camera & power button and it's waay too big. Plus it's interesting to see how the platform will work in real life: it's the first snapdragon... |

| Capacitive screen is better than resistive - great reviews of it with the iPhone. X2 has a touch pad which is totally unneeded for a touch screen device. The lack of separate buttons for the camera are a downside - I agree. The power button for the X1 is a PITA - prefer HTC solution Phone is not too big for me as the screen will be stunning to look at and allows for easy typing - I hate using a stylus for most of my applications and then having to go to the keyboard with the X1 And HTCs software over WM6.5 is way better |

| Power button: ok, I see the preference thing here. Size: ok, the preference too... X1/X2 is perfect for me not really exceeding the regular phone size. HTC software better: which? The only one I can name is YouTube app. TF3D is a major ****, however probably a preference thing too. Capactive: ok, you like it - fine. The fact is that in RESISTIVE you can use whatever to press it, I mean finger/nail/stylus/pen/paper - whatever. In CAPACTIVE the finger works, nail - NOT. Plastic stylus - NOT. Txt precision - GONE. The only way is to carry an extra ridiculous stylus. The devices are more and more dumbed because idiots have "problem" with operating it. I don't like the way the development goes. In computer it goes forward, in phones goes backward in some areas. I mean once the capactive will gain the whole market = I quit using touch screens. Sorry for rant, but recent time in smartphones area is very controversial for me. Some things go worse.. |

| domisistry - Understand your reasoning and it's a personal preference issue. If I could get Win 6.5 on my X1 I would keep it longer. I do like the qwerty keyboard but I find I use the stylus too much as I need the stylus to get to my applications and then have to put it away to type and then get it out again to close the application - this is just stupid. The HD2 is so much like the iPhone in operation and so many people love this - you can use your finger for everything. I don't txt that much and not having the qwerty should be fine for me - Most of the conclusions I have come to are due to the X1 use (It trys to do too much - i.e. touch pad and touch screen - why ???? you don't need both) But the lack of support for the X1 has turned me off completely and HTC sense is much better than the TF3d http://blogs.zdnet.com/cell-phones/?...col1;post-2641 Last edited by Reggie3 : 12-02-2009 at 10:55 AM. |
