Default Power Management

Okay, besides the very first HP windows Mobile PDA that came out back in late 90's, this is my first Windows Mobile Phone.

That said, how is everyone dealing with Power Management on their X1?

I've had the X1 for 3 full days now, and I've run the battery down twice already. Now granted I've been going crazy using it, Wifi, GPS, HSDPA, youtube etc etc etc.

Question is, how does everyone handle power management?

Right now I've had to:

1. Turn off bluetooth when not using it
2. Turn off wifi when I'm not using it
3. turn off all unused apps

Problem is that you're busy and you forget, and the battery drains to nothing. I'm already checking out USB battery packs, but they cost about HKD$350, and they aren't the most compact of devices...

Any Ideas?

im using the full bettery power all day long,
bluetooth, wifi, messeging, phones, camera, slideshow-ing pictures, some few clips of video. all together, i never ran out of bettery,
BUT, you must recharge it when you are sleeping to use the full capacity whole day long.

also, automatic screen brightness adjustment is useful, x1 uses its light sensor to adjust the brightness automatically,

Turn off 3G when not going online, GSM is enough to talk.
Or you can try GB-SOFT GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/3G Tweak for Windows Mobile 6.1 - HTC Diamond ,..,..

I got this solar battery cost around HK$200 @ Golden
2600mA/h Size like a 2.5" portable hard drive.

I don't know if the battery work well with X1 because I don't have the X1 now, I will buy the X1 when I goto HK

Good luck!

I have felt that warm battey cover. Not too fun, but is mostly shows when the screen has been on for a while.
A tip is to make the screen turn off when not using it. That saves LOADS of battery power.

Sounds like the problems I had with my TyTn II in the beginning, it later even effected the motherboard and chip which controlled my 3G functioning.

I took have noticed how hot the battery cover gets, mainly when charging or synching. Where is the setting to make the screen turn off when not in use and how do you get the screen to come on again?

On my first X1 the battery cover would fry when using the media player, music player, during calls and charging! On the replacement it's not sooo bad and the top of the phone for the ear doesn't heat up or heat my ear up anymore.
