It depends on the quality of the .avi-file and probably which media player you use. I've heard that Coreplayer is a good one, but I haven't had the time to try it out.

You can install some apps from the phone. There are some that you have to install using a computer.

I would say nearly all provide a CAB that you can install straight from the phone. There are still some that come only as desktop installers but for the most parts the developers have waken up. None of the apps I use need a desktop to install.

To answer the question about track id, I dont think its on there but there is a cab floating around xda-devs to install it I believe.

Here are some links. It comes from an ATT winmo phone. Im not sure if it is VGA or not. You may need to do some searching but this should point you in the right direction:
looking for a few cabs - xda-developers
Cab for ATT Music ID? - xda-developers

Question - does it have inbuilt handwriting recognition??
Apparently HTC Touch Pro has none, what about Xperia?

Guys, a lot of questions here...

1. How do i sync files to the phone, i use that stupid windows mobile device center software, but it never sends across files, other than the ones already on the phone.

2. Windows mobile device center always refers to my documents to sync the files present there, can i somehow change that?

3. How do i get core player to recongnize my video files. It always only shows the five files which came along with the phone...
