Default Spb Chosen to Create UI Panel for the XPERIA X1

Quote:
Sony Ericsson has chosen Spb to create an XPERIA Panel version of their popular Spb Mobile Shell app.

Spb Mobile Shell improves the user interface of standard Windows Mobile apps displaying multiple information on one customizable screen such as missed calls, unread messages, weather, calendar, date and time, and contacts. The XPERIA Panel version is expected to make use of the XPERIA X1's 3D acceleration as well as present new opportunities for the developer community.

Here's the best news -- expect it to be a free download when it is launched.

Wow seems like a great app to have. I like the way it changes screens. And that page flipping is cool too.

As far as I know it comes already installed on the phone. it's listed in the white paper. Also, if you go onto SE's product website, when you look at the X1 page, they have a panels section. there's already some in there... and Spb shell is one of them and it's free...

check it out...

Ditto, nor the picture slideshow viewer. Downloaded them off SE's website. The slideshow viewer doesn't operate like in the videos for me though, it just shows a picture and you can scroll through the rest below. Videos I've seen have the images slowly moving around on screen and transitioning etc. It also doesn't pick up the preinstalled images nor does it appear to have any settings.

I may try reinstalling as this was something I was looking forward to as aphotographer - having music play as a slideshow runs, showing prospective clients some images.

I thought the slideshow shown in the demo videos was part of the SE media player panel?

Anyway, you can start a song in the background, enter your file manager and then just click on the picture you like. Doesn't it start the Windows-like slideshow that way?

Yeah, I know I can start a track and use the regular explorer slideshow but images seemed to show fullscreen and move around on the slideshow panel and they don't for me. They just occupy the top portion of the screen and there's a row of images below to scroll through. The functionality appeared different in videos I've seen.
