I meant $80 to start off with! You on the other hand probably have unlimited everythin' for that amount. Or a family plan. As for me, I own two (2) phones, the iPhone and Helio Ocean (soon to be Xperia X1) both totally tricked out. Why, you ask? Because I have not found one (1) phone that can satisfy my needs! One phone can do what the other can't do. I know, and the sad part is, I'm not much of a talker. I just like to show it off...

...Anyways, I'm not an AT&T fan, but AT&T has rollever! Therefore, the minutes I pay for every month, I get to keep (1,700+)! Unlike the rest of the carriers. That, and T-Mobile barely rolled out their 3G! G1 one owners aka Beta Testers! Let's not forget that T-Mobile data plan went up recently! Oh yeah, and I can't forget that I will be able to get a family plan with my iPhone. AT&T FTW. Well, it looks like it's gonna' be a great '09 after all...

Sad we have to resort to this type of speculation to get a release date.

Woah, let's not start saying stuff we can't take back. It has nothing to do with Canada being a left leaning country, since Much of Europe is a lot more socialist than Canada. It's more of the very few tech junkies who actually spend money on stuff like the X1, since we just got 3G and our Cell Phone/Internet/Cable and stuff sucking.

No kidding on the per month service costs, it's such a rip & we suck it up cuz we can't be not connected (well, at least I can't, lol). Hmmm, Best Buy huh? Sucks for me cuz I'm tapped out on my credit card there, go figure...I'm a geek, I can't imagine why. Still praying Ritz camera (nice credit limit, heh heh heh) will sell it, only concern is do they sell new release phones or just phones after they've been out awhile? I don't care if I have to sign a 10 year contract, if it drops the price significantly I'm all over it.

i'Ve been doin' some thinkin', call me cheap iF you want, but i'M not payin' full retail price for a phone. Locked or unlocked. Then turn around and hop on a contract with AT&T/T-Mobile. iDid that with my iPhone then they turned around and dropped the price buy $200. Then they turned around and doubled the memory. Not this time buddy! Last iRemember, AT&T has the right to force you iNto a mandatory 2-year contract on certain phones and iT's services. *Cough* iPhone. $799 plus tax, plus warranty, plus activation, plus half of first month service iS a hugh burden on anyones pocket! Not to mention, many may be ditchin' there old phone and end up payin' an early termination fee ($175-$200). iNeed a carrier subsidy before iPurchase this here phone. Ha', do you know what iCan buy for $799? iSure wouldn't spend iT all on a phone. iReally what this phone but i'M not willin' to pay that much. $500 iS my top offer! That, and X-Mas iS around the corner. i'Ll wait iT out on this one. iNeed a 30 day trail with this phone before iCan make my final choice...

-sent from my iPhone

I agree with you and I agree with the C-Net lady. It's a luxury item at the most if you don't work at an office. I certainly won't be paying $800+tax+activation and then the AT&T service and a verizon ETF of $100.

I'll pick up a Nokia N95 if anything for a smart phone.

Hi, everyone! I've been reading the posts on this site for over a month now and this is my 1st post. I don't have an X1...yet... but I did get to play with one. It really is a gorgeous phone but I'm dissapointed with the negatives of the phone that I've read about here and other forums. I'm hoping and praying really hard that all (or at least most) of the issues that people complained about will be fixed with the X1a that is supposed to come out tomorrow at Best Buy. Tomorrow!!! I'm in Canada and luckily I can get to a Best Buy across the border in about 1hr and a half but I probably won't be going till after Christmas. My question is... is anyone gonna get one tomorrow?
