Default Sony Ericsson Releases XPERIA X1 White Paper R5

Quote:
Revision 5 of the XPERIA X1 White Paper is now out containing a lot of bad news. It seemed like no one noticed that revision 4 came out earlier this month but in any case, I've compared the docs line-by-line, and here's a summary of what has changed since revision 3

Ok one thing that we don't have to worry about:

The Slideshow Panel is available from the panels page.

Bad thing:

The talking times have lowered 16% and (UMTS) almost 30%

Hm..

So why they removed slide show?
And WHY took away H.264 support?
P.S. How do you upgrade X1?
Through the SE PC suite?

The media panel slide show is far slicker than the slide show panel anyway, so that's no great loss (although has been mentioned the slideshow panel is available as a free download from SE).

@doministry: The X1 can be updated by the usual SE Update Service

Thanks for this. I've added the update service at the App Section:
inxperia xperia forums - inxperia Xperia Software Downloads - Sony Ericsson Update Service

So I have a quick question...since they removed the h.264 encoding...would it be possible to enable it by flashing a unlocked EU rom? I'm confused. :/

The way I understand it, I don't think it ever had H.264 encoding.
