I had the same question as another post, so I am just copying that here into the proper catagory where it might get some response... can someone tell me how I can be notified that there really is a new firmware for my X1 because checking it regularly is really a pain in the *** (you need to reset your X1 into upgrade-mode, so your phone doesn't work at that moment, and after checking, you need to reboot).

Traditionally, the best site to check for SE updates is Esato.com (My-Symbian.com is important as well, but may not be as up-to-date for WinMo updates). Certainly, this site and other Xperia X1 sites will also be keenly tuned in on any kind of updates from SE. WMExperts.com are also watching Xperia X1 developments quite closely.

I ran the software to update but it hung up at the point where it had me put my phone in a state to receive the new firmware. Will have to investigate further. Had to remove the battery to restart the phone but did not loose any data or applications I had loaded.
