Not right away, but there are many MANY applications that play these types of files.

You can install third party media players that play a variety of codecs. With CorePlayer (google it) you will probably have the widest video codec support of any mobile device. Also, Kinoma is another good one.

Default Does coreplayer support the X1?

The infosite for coreplayer mobile has a link to their forum with platform limitations. There they write:
"Does not support the Qualcomm MSM7200 QTv chipset (we only support the MSM7500)"

Is this realy true? Has anybody tested coreplayer with a smartphone that has the MSM7200 (e.g. Kaiser, Touch Pro, Touch Diamond)?

Edit: It seems they can't support MSM2000 smartphones because HTC & Qualcomm refuse to give out information about the GPU.

Hmm, I thought it supported QTv on the Kaiser. Dont worry though, CorePlayer will still work. They just mean there is no hardware acceleration on those devices. Since SE is touting graphics acceleration as a feature of the X1though, I imagine they would release the SDK and Coreplayer will add support.
