| Windows Mobile 6.5 confirmed by Steve Ballmer, might solve half your problems - Engadget Mobile Might improve some things but the way 6.1 is integrated with SE software it may not be a plug and play thing. |

| There's no doubt that you'll be able to get Windows Mobile 6.5, whether panels will work is another question... Sony Ericsson will either offer an upgrade with official software which means we'll have to wait until Sony Ericsson release it, or we have to rely on third party upgrades. Either way, there's still over half a year to go until Windows Mobile 6.5 is released if I'm not mistaken and a lot can happen meanwhile.. ![]() |

| Speaking from the experience with my WinMo PDA, upgrading is best done with an OS version specific for your device as there are no screen settings or other settings options like in the 'big' Windows. I upgraded my Pocket PC two times (WinMo 2003 SE to 5.0 to 6.1) and had no problems with it. You set your device to bootloader mode and then load the new OS. The first time you sync it with your PC you get all your data back. Only the added programs or applications have to be installed again.

| From past experience with Sony Ericsson, they have NEVER offered an OS upgrade for any of their phones. They will only release a new OS version with another newer phone model. Let's see whether they will break this trend with the Xperia line. |
