| My only experience with Windows Mobile are from Pocket PCs. The last one I had was the HP Ipaq 5455 that ran WM 2003. I'm just wondering if it differs from WM 6.1. Of course the Ipaq 5455 didn't have any phone capability, but in terms of general use and applications etc. I would like to know If I could just start using the X1 or if there would be a learning curve with 6.1. |

| GOing from WM 2003 to WM 6.1 will be very different. Though some similarities stay (like with every M$ product) it's different.

| WM 6.1 is worlds better, but I don't really think there will be a learning curve. I think the only difference that really causes any confusion is memory. In WM 2003 there was only RAM. It was divided into storage and dynamic, and that could be set by slider. Battery dies and your data is gone. Beginning with WM5 there is now persistent storage. RAM and ROM. Think of it like a windows PC. RAM is dynamic memory. ROM is your hard drive for storage. Your battery dies, you charge up and your data is all still there. Its just a soft reset. |
