| Hi all! How is the music quality of SE XPERIA X1? Is it matching with an iPod? or batter than an iPod. Music through headset is the most pratic for me. I would be happy if X1 come with premium headset out of the box. Best regards, Rithy |

| The following is again, speculation ![]() If you measure it statistically, most mobile phones don't perform as well as the iPod in music playback. "Not as good" means, for instance, their signal/noise ratio might be lower. Try GSM Arena's measurements, for example: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_di...view-264p5.php You can see that the Omnia is spectacular when it comes to S/N ratio, and the Diamond's low-frequency roll-off probably means the overall sound will be "thinner" or more tinny. I think SE walkman phones typically get 85-90dB results, as measured by the same website. However, Sony is excellent as tweaking their perceived audio and visual quality. So while Sony products may not be technically superior, they're often the most pleasureable to watch/listen to. It's important to note, that sometimes, technical statistics have little bearing on what you perceive. Many people will in fact be perfectly happy with a 80dB S/N ratio, not to mention we survived the cassette age in style (hopefully!). Also remember, SE's "premium" earphones are still quite low-end, if you consider Sony's entire headphone product line. Sony's got probably 5-6 models above it. The other aspect of music playback is the interface. I assume there are at least two apps on the X1 itself that can play music, and as for 3rd party, Conduit's Pocket Player looks like a nice piece of software, but I can't really comment as I haven't used any of them. |
