Confirmed release date

The Sony erricson was advertised in todays free paper as one of the most up-to-date phones available and was down as a 30/09/2008 release date.

I just came home from a store called ElGiganten (www.elgiganten.se) which is quite big in Scandinavia. The information I got from them was that they would get the first X1 phones in december, although on their homepage it says week 41/42. The date online is not 100% sure though.

Hmm i pre-ordered in the uk from both play.com (due 10/10) and superetrader.co.uk (due 02/10) expecting them to phone me as soon as the phone arrives, so that they could charge me accordingly, superetrader was 536, and play was 499. It looks like superetrader have charged my cc already on the 18/09, which i dont find amusing, they should not be charging unless the item is in stock. Anyone else experienced anything like this ?

A swedish newspaper wrote that it was iPhones worst nightmare and that it should be available 10/10 as alienkidmj12 wrote (play.com).

i'm sure it's supose to be the 30th of september! however, everywhere i look it doesn't have it for that date. it's always a week or two later!!

Another article (although quite "old" one from 10 september) states that the official release date is 30 september, but the day that it's planned to start selling is 10 october.
The countries that are most lucky is Germany, Sweden and the UK. Sweden is up first and we're getting our "special" letters Å Ä Ö on the keyboard, so it's not a plain english-keyboard. Now that's a big "YEY" in my opinion Hopefully the countries that follows will have other letters (otherwise it will only be software-supported).

It could be because its released to the companies on that date, but by the time it gets to them, they enter it onto thier systems, catalogue it, sort it, store it, then get it ready for despatch that takes the time.
