| I just did an Ebay search for the Xperia, and found several listed in the $800-900 price range. One is going for over $800 and it says "reserve not met"... with still a few days left on this bid! It was out of California. So, I'm confused...is this a distributor pulling a sale for a pre-order kind of thing, or is this phone being sold now? I didn't think it had been released yet. Be Very Careful if you're looking on Ebay for the Xperia...last week I saw a single post, had a pic of the phone with a full blown description of every spec imagineable...and in the midst of it read "you are not receiving an actual phone, but a picture of this phone" and the bid was in the hundreds range. How stupid can people be? Nevermind, I'm a CSI; I can answer that. Last edited by Pammydi : 09-24-2008 at 02:04 AM. |

| I never seen that happen anymore, sure it happened when xbox 360 was released, but e-bay now doesn't allow this sorta crap. Even if the person does pay up, e-bay will give refunds and what not. Can you show me the link to it so I can mark the seller?

| Metallic, I can't find the auction that within the fine print read "photo only", however I do remember the seller was from Singapore. I did find an Ebay auction for the X1 from a seller in Singapore, selling *the phone*, however the price tag is currently $1,800 (I'm guessing U.S. currency). It's gotta be the same seller. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Ericsson-Xp...d=p3286.c0.m14 Here are a few other popular sites I'm sure we all peruse re: the Xperia on Ebay: http://www.uberphones.com/2008/08/so...ia_x1_on_ebay/ http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/0...ate-with-ebay/ http://www.intomobile.com/2008/08/12...hits-ebay.html Last edited by Pammydi : 09-24-2008 at 10:26 AM. | There was at least one of these offered by a seller with 30 positive feedbacks, but upon closer examination, they were all within the last 30 days, and all for purchases of tiny items. Clearly a fraudster. If you see something like this on ebay, report it. It may be a bit like spitting into the ocean and expecting the level to rise, but every little bit helps, I think. My suspicion is that none of us will be scratching this itch on ebay, at least not for another few months. -lr |

| E-BAY will ban it once it knows it is there but it is a bit hard for them to monitor everything, the x-box360 was a big well known launch and therefore ebay would have been more than aware of it, the xperia x1 is different, it is a smaller niche market and SE do have many phones so to the layman watcher its just another SE phone thats out that they didn't know about. |
