| Europe X1i: ..... UMTS VIII = UMTS-FDD 900 USA/Aust X1a: ..... UMTS V = UMTS-FDD 850Mhz, WCDMA 850MHz or HSDPA 850 = Telstra NextG network Both have UMTS I = 2100Mhz band. 3G Networks in Australia and NZ (cut & paste) Australia - Optus, Vodafone and "3" work on the 2100Mhz band. Telstra has rolled out its NextG service on the 850Mhz band. NZ - Vodafone operates a 3G network on the 2100Mhz band. So in summary: if you get the X1 (Europe model) it will work on everything except the NextG network (telstra). If you get the X1a (USA model) it will work on everyone including Telstra 3G. If you are with Telstra and want to use Next G then get the x1a (usa), otherwise i reckon get the X1 (europe) with the 30fps video record. i guess it also depends on where you travel. Gam. | sweet. thanks gamblor. I dont like telstra anyways so i'll prob just get the euro version. im with 3 so i should fine 3g and i live pretty close to the brisbane cbd so range chouldn't be a problem either. i was just wondering about thing. i am planning to buy this phone outright when it come out in australia and i was wondering if 150mb would be enough for each month. im barely gonna go on the internet but i would like to know if i have a new email or the weather and i dont really know how much i need just for that tiny simple stuff like email notifications and maybe send 3 or 4 emails every month, get the weather and leave it on the sony ericsson to update everytime i open it, that type of stuff. would 150mb be enough???? |
