Xperia delayed in UK untill end of october

Committed to bringing you the latest technology as early as possible we work closely with manufacturers to do just this. However sometimes marketing teams and the distribution partners in the UK, get a little ahead of those actually producing the all important hardware!

We have been informed today, by Sony Ericsson that the first of the Sony XPERIA X1 units have been delayed until the end of October.

We are well aware how frustrating this is, and empathise with the situation. We are as keen as you to see the release of these units.

In light of this delay, your order will be held until the units arrive; we have been promised a supply of the first shipment. Nothing will be charged until this time. Upon their arrival, we shall process and ship your order as quickly as possible.

Latest news from vodafone suggests the 17th of October. Anyone know if vodafone removes any functionality from thier phones. I don't want to pay full price for the phone if i can get it on a contract for less.

Strange that a unlocked phone is arriving later than a locked phone???

HTC , Mio & GPS Sat Nav :: Superetrader advises on its website of a 13/10/2008 stock due date, so im hoping that clove are just telling lies about the previous statement, im confused as to why its delayed really, anyone any comments on this ?

SE may be selective in who they want to supply first, so the message from Clove doesn't mean everyone is going to be delayed. Let's wait out a bit more see if similar messages from the other retailers.

Also, SE may want to ensure that the networks get supplied first before giving more out to the retailers. This has been their release plan anyway.

Yeah.. Sucks. I'm in US, but I'd have to say, there's probably a good reason for it all. I hope they are improving response times and such. Waiting is rough, but rather have a finished product then a slow one.

Many stores in Sweden have already got their X1. I talked to a salesperson (who happens to be a friend of mine) at a big store today and he said that they have got the phone. I could buy one... If I had the money to spend on it =/ Can't you all be nice and send me some money? I can post a review in return =D

yep the swedes have it 1st, the last I heard 17th of Oct was a definate from vodafone and that was only a couple of days ago, am going in store tomoz as we shold have been able to preorder it from today
