Default Data in comm manager

I'm a little confused about the lowest option in the comm manager - in swedish "dataanslutning", in English probably "dataconnections".

Mine is constantly set to off, but all data transfering is working without any limitation, as far as I can see.

Well, while posting this it strikes that it might have to do with using you're phone as a modem connected to a computer. Can anyone confirm this?

Post a screen shot. Might be able to tell by what the icon looks like. Could be direct push.
