Here's a pretty nicely done video demo from the folks at blog.se-nse.net, based on a late prototype. Video preview: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 at Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog

Very good demo, it shows Xperia is responsive and very quick most of the times. The panels are quick enough for me, but I'm tired of seen so many videos flopping panels over an over. I wish to see demos getting inside producitivity applications with some detail. That will be my most important use of Xperia. (After a while the porno music is annoying. )Last edited by Pinguino1 : 10-20-2008 at 02:10 AM.

Pinguino1, totally agree. We definitely need to move beyond the Panels, and start to look into the innards and applications. But, I would think that because it is Windows Mobile 6.1, there won't be much new stuff to show. Perhaps, what would be good is to show off new or updated apps which have been optimised for WVGA, since the X1 is probably the best WVGA WM6.1 device out there at the moment. And they should look gorgeous with that nice high res screen.

. . Well I don't think getting deep into full review of serious/powerful apps will be boring. Besides a good mix of entertainmet nad productivity is needed. Let me make this point: Xperia sales success will not come from the WinMo base. First the total WM base is barely 10% of the whole mobile universe. So the "conversion to Xperia or WM " mostly will come from: New Users that for the first time move into a smartphone. Previous generation bored, tired with numeric keyboards. Jealous Symbian/S60 who feels they are being left behind people enchanted with the touch screen thing People like me who want enterrtainment and laptop in my shirt pocket and of course WM people who hope it will be a better WM. . .

Plus I really want to try Windows Mobile. Everyone says it's so bad, somehow I just don't think it's that bad. I'm coming from a Treo 650, so if it's worse than Palm OS 5.2, then I will be very surprised.
