Default Got mine from vodafone yesterday!!!

Hey, I ordered mine on friday and had it in my hand 14 hours later. From first impressions it doesn't look like vodafone did much to it. Even the logo is on the battery cover which can be replaced for like 10 bucks i'm guessing. I have a few questions though. My line won't be activated till tuesday since they need to port my orange number over but when I put my orange SIM in, it works. Does that mean the phone is unlocked or is the orange network somehow affiliated with vodafone. (Sorry i'm new to the uk) Also, I am curious is there a way to check the resolution on WinMo. It just doesn't seem like 800x480.

Maybe I am just paranoid because of the awesome deal from vodafone and the lack of heavy vodafone branding, maybe vodafone didn't give me a real one

Also it didn't come with a microSD card. I thought it was shipping with 4gb. Maybe vodafone is taking them out.

sounds to be like it's unlocked then
as vodafone and orange as far as i know
are competitors

i would look in settings under about or devices and the likes
for res info
not 100% sure as my wm device i had have passed on

not sure the sd card included was a global thing
think it was some operator in holland and sweden that
had that option with the movie handcock on it

have not seen it advitised from other sources

Congrats on getting your X1!!

Please check something for me - how many locked panels do you have in your Vodafone X1?

got mine from Voda yesterday after waiting and failing miserably to get one through an o2 upgrade.

performs really well as well, only branding ive noticed really is the logo on the back of the phone (as mentioned) and the vodafone panel. its not actually that bad as its a replacement for google panel and even still has google maps.

I also noticed the inclusion of Opera browser :-)

far nicer to use than my MDA Compact III

The phone works fine without a SIM card. Did you try to make a call or send an SMS? If it does work, then it's probably not operator locked.

From What I've heard there can be something with the registration of the phone that gives you the opportunity to get the microSD card sent home to you by mail. Not 100% sure about that though. The X1 that I have been able to play around with did come with a 4GB microSD card (Swedish model).

Hi, you said it has a vodaphone panel... is that panel removable? or are you stuck with it?

thanks,

It's more likely a case of not putting one in. As far as I know a memory card, be it 4 or 8 gb, is an extra to 'sweeten the deal'. If you look closely at many of the cheap distributors or most carriers there is no memory card in the shipment.
