Question Backward compatibility

This could be a noob question, so my apologies in advance.

Can Xperia X1 run older applications for Windows Mobile 6.0 and 5.0?

i'M pretty sure that many will! However, many apps were made for QVGA (320x240) and the X1 is WVGA (800x480)! That's a nearly 3 times the resolution! iCan see VGA (640x480) and WVGA becomin' the next standard resolution iN Window Mobile, so hopefully developers will and have started to optimize apps for bigger screen sizes/resolution...

Most will work fine. An app designed for QVGA running on a VGA device will usually just be scaled up. A QVGA app running on the XPERIA will usually be scaled up to VGA then just leave nothing in the extra space.

The OS's themselves did not introduce many incompatibilities though. Many apps from WM2003 will work fine. If it was designed for WM5 it will almost certainly work on WM6.x.

Most older programs run on WM 6.1. It goes back until the old 2003 SE (tried it ). The only drawback is the black bar that appears at the top because of the VGA res - the 120 pix that are missing.
