A friend of mine owns a private cellphone shop/ chain said he received a notice from one of his suppliers that said the Xperia should be out around April and the cost to him would be $915. That means you could expect him to sell it around $1000-1100, maybe more.

I have heard a lot of chatter about an April-May release. Some on GSM Arena were saying that they called/emailed SE support and were told april to may. I am very hopeful for extremely good news at CTIA.

Holy balls, $1000-$1100? That's too much for my blood. I was willing to pay up to $600 but that's just way too much. If that's what the price is going to be, I'll just stick with my AT&T Tilt or get the 3G iPhone.

This video is from CTIA the interface is a little sluggish but they say its a pre- production firmware. My only worry is that the interface is still too sluggish to be close to production (a May release date). Someone commented that it might even be 8 months away! If this is the case, I don't think the phone will sell much. My friend may be wrong if this is the case.

I might get another phone in the meantime (velocity mobile 103? No keyboard ) then get the X1 when it comes out because that is a loong wait and I am so sick of my mogul.

I called celluloco.com because they had listed the X1 as ETA march 29th, the product manager had said, "give us a month" he said they need to be cleared by customs or something in Malaysia. With all of these various release dates, I think I 'll just wait till it comes out instead of wondering when lol.

I wouldnt bet on it being here that soon. The X1 that I played with still had a while left to go. The firmware is very buggy. And that was a firmware released right before ctia. Right now, I hear August is a likely release.

Releasing it too soon with a firmware still crappy would be a terrible mistake, because it might kill the X-1 even before it is born.

Between august & late october would be perfect if they are aiming the US & European markets. It would give them enough time to send some samples to all the reviewers to have the X-1 tested & analysed before the holiday season.

Looks fake to me. I don't get it why people r talking about mai release. There aren't even preview devices handed out. The moment a blogger gets a complete preview device in his hands and can keep it, you'll still have to wait for a couple more months before it gets released for everyone. It will only arrive end of this year, if not later.
