Default Help, X1 Dead!!! (solved)

I downloaded the SE Update Service software so i could update my old SE P1i to give to my girfriend but i forgot to uninstall it and when i plugged in my X1 to charge it killed it. I can't get it to turn on, already tried removing the battery but it's completly dead. anyone out there got any ideas, i've only had it 3 days i can't have killed it already.

Are you sure it has any battey power left? It seem very strange that it does not even respond, like turning on the screen (and then doing nothing)... Perhaps you should call the SE support or take it back to the store you got it from. At the store you might be able to test a new battey.
Although it sounds crazy that an PC-installed software would kill your X1 :-S

Maybe a stupid remark, but have your tried a hard reset? (two hardkeys on the front and reset at the back then press R)?

Hope it helps...

The update service also has the capability to updates the X1 - if you remove and replace the battery (to ensure that it's really off) replace it and then hold down the volume down button and the power button for a few seconds do you get to the stripy update mode? If so you should be able to use the update service to reflash the firmware.

Sorry people, my mistake, it seems the battery was just dead although at last check it still had a little bit of a bar there. I've never experiences this before as my old P1i would give me regular warnings that the battery was dead before it actually shut itself down. This gave me very little warning at all. Need to research into an optimal setup for reducing power usage during day to day use.
