Hi all, I am newly registered here but have been lurking for a while. I had some questions for anyone who may have previously owned a tilt or its non at&t raped brother, the Kaiser, and have since purchased an X1. I am somewhat of a Pocket PC enthusiast and naturally the X1 piques my interests pretty greatly. I was wondering if you had some advice on whether or not you thought replacing your tilt was a good idea or not. Is it really that much better? Obviously the tilt had some pretty crippling shortcoming s such as no graphics drivers, general slowness, interface problems etc. Does the X1 improve on any of those? Does the X1 retain any of the tilts strengths such as its versatility, call quality and keyboard sensitivity? Is there anything else I should know right now? For any of you who are about to link me to BengalBoy's review, thanks but I have already read it. I am very well aware of the cosmetic differences, I just want to hear about the other things you really cant put on paper. I am really wanting to upgrade soon, and I for sure do not want to get at&t's fuze/touch pro because I doubt its much (if any) improvement over the tilt. I am hoping the X1 is my answer, but I have to be certain before i drop $800 on this thing. Please help, it is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Matt

I'm not the owner of a Tilt or similar, so I can't give you a comparison between the two. Personally, I think the keyboard is pretty great to type with. Except for the fact the the top row is rather close to the edge which means that if you have large fingers, you may encounter problems typing. As for the graphics driver, I am very satisfied with video playback on the device. My advice to you, though, is to thoroughly play around with an Xperia in the shop before you buy one because it really seems to be one of those things which you'll either love or hate. Sorry if this wasn't the response you're looking for.

| Only thing I miss on the keyboard is some arrows.

Thank you very much for your advice. I still havent made my decision though. Guess I will try and get my hands on one for a little while and see how i like it. I have absolutely no problem spending $800 on the X1 if it is going to be as good as I think it is.

I've had a Tilt and I can assure you the X1 is a giant step forward. How could it not be, as the Tilt is already past retiring age? It was a good device in its day, but things have moved forward since. You should certainly make the switch, if only for the X1's beautiful screen.

No, I was misinformed. You are correct. The restock date is 12/13-12/30/2008. Not good . The fact that I could possibly get this thing AFTER Christmas greatly saddens me.Anyone know if the sony style stores will be getting them in stock sooner?
