Default media player remote ?

I can plug my x1 into my amp and am wondering if I can use my w610i as a remote for the media player. The w610i has a media player remote and it appears to connect but the buttons don't do anything.

OK thanks, just had another go at getting this working and got this happening:

I can get some control by going to options->buttons on the X1 media player and assigning the button presses from the w610i to the controls of the player. The problem now is that with the exception of the volume controls all the button presses from the w610i appear as unknown so any other controls I've assigned then become not assigned so I can really only get one function and vol up/down.
Is there any sort of button mapping I need to do?

EDIT: Can get it working much better by using the desktop remote option on the w610i instead of the media player remote. Still not perfect and would prefer to get the media remote working but I can get by with this.
