I spoke to a Rogers rep (for those who are Canadian, pay attention), he said he got wind of the Xperia coming to Rogers in late January or early February. So he called up the channel to see if the Xperia was coming in Q1 of '09. He spoke to his superiors and they said it's true.

Rogers is in a great partnership (if not owned by) AT&T. As such I've heard rumors of AT&T picking up the phone.

I have no proof or anything to back that up, just hearsay.

99% of the time, the reps don't know anything and chances are he's just lying. That's what I understand from howardsforum. If you don't know that forum, it's basically discussions about any type of cellphones and all Canadian and US carriers.

Well I didn't write down the guys name and agent number.
I've read Howard Forums and I know they say never trust reps, this one seemed to know everything about the Xperia and was as excited or more as I was about this phone.

That being said I have no clue. Price wise he said on a 3 year voice + data plan anywhere from $199-399 I believe. He said he didn't know the price, that information was not passed down.

I'm I think I will cancel my order with J & R for the time being. J & R will only get them Jan 9th like everywhere else in the states. Shipping is 35 US to Canada, and that doesn't include the 100+ brokerage fees you will also have to pay UPS upon delivery.

I'll wait to see if Rogers will get it. It's worth a month wait to save around $800 for me.
