TMC support

Since the X1 will support RDS for it's radio, will it also be able to use TMC(Traffic Message Channel) data for the navigationsoftware?

TMC needs decoding, that's what the TMC-receivers are for (and isn't decodable with software AFAIK). So maybe if SE releases a TMC-receiver for the X1, otherwise, nope..

EDIT: There are some Bluetooth TMC receivers though, maybe you have a shot there.
EDIT2: Navigon has a MiniUSB TMC Adapter officialy only made for PNA's, but with some tweaking, why shouldn't it work?

But TMC is send over RDS. In Belgium the TMC's are free, so it should be possible I guess?

Yes in Holland it's also free. I'm saying TMC-signal should not only be received, but also translated. So you don't buy the receiver for the receiving part, but the decoding part. You can receive it, but you can't decode it for your navigation software.

But maybe the miniUSB TMC receiver/decoder from Navigon is a solution, we'll have to wait for the X1's release and someone to test it...

You can pull out the antenna and set the receiving to the X1's built-in FM+RDS-tuner probably
